02 · Working principle

Protection around the fiber, not over it.

A water-based silane formulation wraps around each individual fiber and forms a water and dirt repellent coat without closing the gaps between them. Breathability and hand are preserved. Fluorine-free, silicone-free and PFAS-free per the OECD 2021 definition.

03 · Application

Five-step protocol.

Reproducible results through a standardized process. A spray bottle is enough.

  1. 01

    Clean

    Clean the fabric thoroughly. Wash out fresh stains, pre-treat older ones with an upholstery or outdoor cleaner if needed.

  2. 02

    Dry

    Let the fabric dry completely. Residual moisture prevents even absorption of the waterproofing treatment.

  3. 03

    Apply treatment

    Spray or sponge on evenly. Do not soak the fabric, just make it visibly damp. 70 to 200 ml per square meter depending on absorbency.

  4. 04

    Let it soak in

    Allow at least 30 minutes to dry at room temperature. For highly absorbent fabrics, apply a second coat wet-on-wet for the best protection.

    Activate

    Full protection after 24 hours. Avoid early exposure. Tip: try the water-drop test, water should bead up on the surface.

05 · Frequently asked questions

Six answers.

Q01 Which fabrics is the waterproofing treatment suitable for? +

For all absorbent fabrics: cotton, linen, canvas, polyester, nylon (open-pored), blends, as well as velour, suede and nubuck. Not suitable for smooth leather, coated fabrics, faux leather, PVC and already treated materials.

Q02 How well does the treatment protect against stains? +

Liquids bead up and soak in much more slowly. That gives you time to wipe them up before stains form. Important: if the liquid is not removed promptly, it can still penetrate after prolonged contact.

Q03 Does the treatment change the look of my fabrics? +

No. It is color and odor neutral. No visible traces, feel and appearance stay unchanged. Colors stay vivid and the hand of the fabric is preserved.

Q04 Is the treatment wash-resistant? +

Partly wash-resistant. With hand washing or a gentle machine cycle, part of the protection remains. After several wash cycles we recommend reapplying the treatment.

Q05 How much treatment do I need? +

About 100 to 200 ml per square meter depending on fabric thickness. Sofa (~5 m²): about 500 ml to 1 L. Awning (~10 m²): about 1 to 2 L. For an exact calculation we are happy to advise you at +49 6826 96 52 90.

Q06 Can I also treat smooth-leather shoes? +

No, our fabric waterproofing is not suitable for smooth leather, since smooth leather is not absorbent. For smooth leather we recommend a sealer that forms a protective film on the surface.
