02 · Working principle

Protection around the fiber, not over it.

A water-based silane formulation wraps a fine water-repellent film around every single fiber. The gaps stay open, so water vapor keeps escaping freely. No stiff film build-up, the shoe stays flexible and breathable. Fluorine-free and PFAS-free by the OECD 2021 definition.

03 · Application

Five-step protocol.

Repeatable results through a standardized process. No special tools required.

    Clean the shoes

    Remove dirt and dust with a brush or damp cloth. Use a soft brush on suede.

  2. 02

    Dry completely

    Let the shoes dry fully. Stuff wet shoes with newspaper. Residual moisture reduces uptake.

  3. 03

    Spray on the treatment

    Spray evenly from 6 to 8 inches away, wet the surface well but do not soak it. Remove laces, do not forget the tongue.

    Let it soak in

    Let dry at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. A second coat is recommended on highly absorbent material.

    Test & wear

    Full protection after 12 hours. Do a water-drop test, water should bead off. Only then wear them again.

05 · Frequently asked questions

Six answers.

Q01 Should I treat new shoes before wearing them for the first time? +

Absolutely yes. Always treat new shoes before you wear them for the first time. The material is still untouched and takes up the waterproofing treatment best. That way you build a protective barrier right from the start.

Q02 Does the treatment make my shoes fully waterproof? +

A waterproofing treatment makes shoes water-repellent, not fully waterproof. Rain drops, puddle splashes and light moisture bead off. Standing in water for a long time can still let moisture through. For true waterproofing you need rubber boots or membrane shoes.

Q03 Can I also treat my leather shoes? +

It depends on the type of leather. Our textile treatment works very well on suede, velour and nubuck. These materials are absorbent and take up the treatment best. Smooth leather and synthetic leather are not suitable because they have a closed surface. The treatment cannot penetrate and would only sit on top. For smooth leather you need dedicated leather-care products.

Q04 Does the treatment change the color of my shoes? +

No. Our nano treatment is color-neutral and leaves no visible marks. On light or sensitive materials we still recommend a test on an inconspicuous spot. On suede the color can look darker for a short time while drying, which evens out once fully dry.

Q05 How long does the treatment need to dry? +

At least 30 minutes, better several hours or overnight. The longer the treatment dries, the better it bonds with the material. Ideal: spray in the evening, let dry overnight, wear in the morning. Do not dry on a radiator or with a hair dryer.

Q06 Can I treat white sneakers without them turning yellow? +

Yes. Our treatment is formulated specifically so it does not cause yellowing. On the contrary, it protects white sneakers from dirt and stains so they stay bright white longer. On white shoes we recommend two thin coats for the best protection.
