02 · How it works

Water repellency from within.

The silane/siloxane microemulsion penetrates deep into the concrete and reacts chemically with the mineral matrix. The pores are lined to become water-repellent, but they are not sealed shut. Water vapour from inside still escapes freely, so there is no moisture build-up and no frost spalling. This is a penetrating sealer, a water repellent that works below the surface rather than forming a film on top.

03 · Application

Five-step protocol.

Reproducible results through a standardized process. No special tools required.

  1. 01

    Check the substrate

    Concrete must be dry, clean and sound. Repair cracks properly beforehand and remove any loose material.

    Clean

    Wash off soiling with low pressure or mechanically. Treat algae and moss growth with a green-deposit remover first.

  3. 03

    Let it dry

    Allow at least 24 to 48 hours of drying after cleaning. Residual moisture reduces the performance of the water repellent.

  4. 04

    Apply the sealer

    Apply generously top to bottom with brush, roller, low-pressure sprayer or airless unit. Wet-in-wet until no more is absorbed.

  5. 05

    Let it cure

    Full cure after 24 to 48 hours. Protect from rain. The effect is visible immediately, water beads off.

On a major rail infrastructure project, our penetrating concrete sealer was put to work. Roughly 60,000 m² of white class-4 fair-faced concrete, along with nearly 110 km of joints, were protected with our system, for a flawless appearance and long-term durability of the surfaces.

The work was carried out together with a specialist for fair-faced concrete finishing. The project was completed on schedule in autumn 2024.

05 · FAQ

Six answers.

Q01 How much water repellent do I need for my concrete surface? +

Consumption is 50 to 200 ml per m², depending on how absorbent your concrete is. For a 100 m² area, plan on 5 to 20 liters. Tell us your area and we will give you a precise recommendation.

Q02 When is the best time to apply the sealer? +

Spring, summer and autumn are ideal. Application temperature between 5 and 30 °C, with no rain for at least 24 hours before and after application.

Q03 Does the sealer protect the reinforcement from corrosion? +

Indirectly, yes. Because water no longer penetrates the concrete, no moisture reaches the steel reinforcement. Frost spalling and gradual rebar corrosion caused by penetrating water are effectively prevented.

Q04 How long does the treatment last? +

Up to 15 years, depending on weather exposure and concrete quality. Highly exposed surfaces such as bridge caps or south- and west-facing facades are under more stress than protected areas. When water stops beading off, it is time to refresh.

Q05 Does the sealer change the look of my concrete? +

No. Our water repellent is completely invisible once dry. It changes neither color, gloss nor texture, which makes it ideal for fair-faced concrete and heritage-protected buildings.

Q06 Do you offer bulk containers and references for larger projects? +

Yes. On request we supply 200 L drums and IBC containers. Our penetrating concrete sealer has been used on major projects covering roughly 60,000 m². For trade partners we offer white-label labeling. Contact us directly. Distributor and trade inquiries welcome.
